Skirton-Davies on Elite Course

Tracey Skirton, Welsh gymnastics, women’s artistic national coach has been placed on an elite coach programme.

Sports coach UK has launched the programme ‘Coach Inspire 2014’ to support the development of world class coaches in the UK with the emphasis on getting more athletes on the podium for 2014 Commonwealth Games.

She has been placed with three other Welsh coaches on the scheme which aims to boosts home country medal prospects and be a stepping stone for coaches to design elite and world class programmes.

‘Coach Inspire 2014’ supported by the UK Sport and the home nations sports council will provide each coach with a development programme specific to their needs.

Coaches will benefit from mentors as well as an online education and communication tool ‘CoachHub’.

Tracey Skirton-Davies said “I am pleased to be on the programme, I am confident that the resources I will obtain from such a scheme give me the tools needed to fulfil my potential as an elite coach and get more gymnasts on the podium come 2014.”
