Area Boundary Changes

Areas – Information Note

Welsh Gymnastics have recently introduced changes to its Areas.  These changes were made following the area changes that Sport Wales introduced. The Welsh Gymnastics Areas are totally now in line with the areas adopted by Sport Wales.  Welsh Gymnastics have also appointed 3 new Club Development Officers. They will be in touch with you soon.  Their biographies and contact numbers will be on the WG website.

All the local authorities in Wales have been placed in 4 areas and have a WG Club Development Officer:

• North –  Joy Sumner
• West –  Victoria Jones
• South Central –  Siwan Jones
• South East –  Aled Jones

The local authorities included in the Areas are as follows:

North

Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwynedd, Wrexham, Ynys Mon.
 

West  

Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Neath Port Talbot, Pembrokeshire, Powys, City and County of Swansea.

South Central 

Bridgend, Caerphilly, Merthyr, RCT, Vale of Glamorgan.

South East

Blaenau Gwent, Cardiff, Monmouthshire, Newport, Torfaen.

 

Some clubs have changed areas due to the boundary area changes – your club will be in the same area as your local authority. Some of the clubs most affected are ones in Powys, Bridgend and the old South region.  If you need any further information or clarification please contact the Welsh Gymnastics Office or your Area Chairman.
