Agility have worked with British Gymnastics since 2013, providing bespoke training and support to British Gymnastics and their club members.

Risk Assessment Training from Agility is designed to give gymnastics clubs the skills to assess hazards and risks within their gymnastics environment and to give them the knowledge to produce suitable and sufficient risk assessments.

The workshop will cover the requirements for all employees, coaches and volunteers to be risk aware. Although not all employees and volunteers will be expected to undertake risk assessments, they may be ask to contribute to the process in order to protect their own Health & Safety and that of others.

The Risk Assessment Workshop has the following learning outcomes:

  • Understand the legal requirements for risk assessments
  • Understand the principles of a risk assessment (hazards, risks & control measures)
  • The five steps of a risk assessment
  • The hierarchy of control
  • Risk assessment review and record keeping
  • Common risks associated with gymnastics clubs

The space required for this course to take place in-house would be a room containing tables and chairs for the delegates and trainer, including a projector and screen. The equipment required for the practical element of the course is the use of a gym floor. Any additional equipment required will depend on the clubs discipline.
