Welsh Gymnastics are delighted to have secured Margaret (Maggie) Kerr, TeamGym national judging convener and brevet judge, for an introduction to judging workshop.
Margaret is head coach at Saltire Gymnastics Club in Scotland, which aims to be the most inclusive and successful TeamGym club in the UK, and has a huge amount of experience and lots of ideas to share with our community.
TeamGym is a gymnastics discipline which takes place over three pieces of apparatus; floor, vault and trampette.
It is fast-paced and highly technical, and allows gymnasts to be part of exciting team competitions. Teams are made up of 6-12 gymnasts, and can be female, male or mixed.
The TeamGym codes of practice are currently under review, so Welsh Gymnastics is very fortunate that Maggie has agreed to run this workshop.
The workshop will be held at Kestrel Gymnastics Club in Chepstow on September 23rd and will cost £40.
It's a six-hour workshop, which includes three hours in the classroom and three hours on practical judging with Welsh TeamGym gymnasts.
Participants will get a formal qualification from this course which will be needed to judge at the Welsh TeamGym championships in December.
