Welsh gymnast Emily Thomas has been selected for the Great Britain Senior squad.

Emily began her gymnastics journey with Penybont Gymnastics and now trains at the National Gymnastics Centre in Cardiff, where she has been working hard to become a part of the high level squad.

She will be training alongside world and Olympic gymnasts every month, and on October 21 has her first GB call-up at Aldershot.

Emily has been given her Great Britain tracksuit to travel to the 2017 Rushmore Rosebowl event in Aldershot, and will soon compete locally in Cardiff in the first of the Commonwealth Games trials.

To watch Emily and more of the women's artistic long list in action, come along to the Commonwealth trial event [opens in new window] at Sport Wales National Centre on October 29.

This is Emily’s first year as a senior, after finishing her junior career as both Junior Commonwealth and Northern European champion.

National coach Tracey Skirton Davies comments: “We are delighted that Emily has made the GB Senior squad - she has worked incredibly hard and hopefully she will fight to become part of many more GB teams in the future.”
