This weekend marked the end of the NDP/IDP Acrobatic Gymnastics season, with the British NDP and IDP Championships taking place at Fenton Manor in Stoke on Trent.

Four Welsh clubs had qualified for the event via the Welsh Regional competition in March, including West Street, Newport, Saltney and Milford Haven.

It was the first British Championship for many of the gymnasts but everybody held their nerves and performed brilliantly.

It was a successful event for West Street Gymnastics Club, with Rhiannon Maine and Leah Richards achieving a Silver Medal in the IDP Women’s Pairs and Bronwen Maine, Olivia Hillman and Ella Johnson achieving a Silver Medal in the IDP Women’s Groups.

West Street’s Grade 3 Women’s Group of Lydia Taylor, Jodie Bevan and Carys Butler achieved Wales’ highest score over the weekend, with a routine displaying technical excellence and artistic beauty.

Well done to everyone involved on a very successful weekend!
