Earlier this year, one of our Acrobatic gymnasts Lucy Ellis sadly passed away after contracting sepsis.  Lucy loved our sport and especially Acro Gymnastics; she was an accomplished member of the Welsh Gymnastics Acro Squad, the Welsh Community and also King Edmunds Gymnastics Club.

Lucy’s family have now started the Lucy Ellis Foundation, with three main aims:

  • Raising awareness of Sepsis
  • Funding Wales’ first ECMO facility
  • Providing Athletic Scholarships

Welsh Gymnastics would really like to show our support for this amazing foundation, and so we will be hosting a Lucy Ellis Memorial GymFest later this year on November 25th.

Lucy’s love of dance, her zest for life and her vivacious personality made a GymFest the ideal way for the Welsh Gymnastics community to show our support and help raise not only awareness but also some funds for the Foundation.

The GymFest will be an opportunity for clubs to showcase new Acro routines, new Gym Fusion routines or just simply show your support with a gymnastics/dance performance.

Routines should be no longer than 8 mins, but clubs can enter as many routines as they want to.

Entry will be £5 per gymnast, and there will be door charge for everyone of £3. All proceeds raised will be donated to the Lucy Ellis Foundation.

You can read more about Lucy's journey with Welsh Gymnastics here, and if you’d like any further details on the GymFest, please do not hesitate to contact us.
