Welsh Gymnastics have always championed inclusivity within the sport, and across its disciplines. Our clubs have been working hard to develop and support programmes for young gymnasts with disabilities within our clubs over recent years, and we thought it was time to shine a light on the fantastic work they have been doing behind the scenes to inspire another clubs to embark on the journey too.
The Insport accreditation helps our clubs to receive recognition for their contribution to inclusivity and many clubs across Wales are already meeting some of the baseline criteria for their Ribbon Award.
Two of our clubs that know all about the Insport journey and are well versed in the practice of how to become an all-inclusive gymnastic club are Ynys Mon Gymnastics Club and Bangor Gymnastics Club. Both of these clubs have gone all the way to Gold and we were delighted to interview the Head Coaches of both clubs recently and learn more about the twists and turns of their Insport journey.
If you’d like to find out more about the Insport accreditation, meet the coaches who have been on the journey, take a look at the equipment and meet the inspirational gymnasts that are getting so much from their gymnastic sessions, then we invite you to join us at our North Wales All Inclusive Taster Day, taking place at Deeside Gymnastics Club on the 17th December 2018 between 10am – 2pm.
Entry is free for all and we welcome you to join in the fun.
