The first Welsh Gymnastics Tumbling Squad session took place at Revolution Gymnastics Club, Birmingham this Saturday (9th February), led by tumble coach Rob Owen.

Over the last 8 months, much work has been put into improving the structure and dynamic of our new Welsh Tumbling squad, which all culminated in the first training session this month.

A fantastic lead tumble coach was appointed, Rob Owen, who himself has many British Team and International gymnasts in his squad. Rob has teamed up with Welsh Gymnastics' discipline development officer Maria, and together they have agreed a criteria, structure and plans for the tumbling discipline moving forward.

Rob's own facility, Revolution Gymnastics Club, was used to host the squad session as it is a world class gymnastics arena, and really benefited the team as our gymnasts all worked extremely hard, coming together as a team and even trying new skills.

In the first session of the day, our youngest tumblers were treated to a visit from World Age Group Champion Megan Surman and British Champion/former-World Championships team member Josh Hunter.

They both very kindly took time out of their busy schedules to answer all of the gymnasts' questions, sharing some excellent training tips and inspiring the group to use positive thoughts and set personal goals at every session they attend.
