Islwyn Gymnastics celebrate their first birthday

We caught up with Karl Ward, managing director of the club, to recap on life at Islwyn Gymnastics during its first year of running:

“Our first year at Islwyn Gymnastics Club has been brilliant! The team have worked so hard to provide high quality, fun gymnastics to a wide variety of gymnasts. During our first year, our membership has grown substantially, and our family has become bigger and bigger as the years' gone on. It has been amazing to watch all the friendships blossom between gymnasts in the gym and parents in the viewing area.”

The club has gone from strength to strength, achieving great milestones in such a short space of time. They have gone on to create a men’s artistic squad who will be competing for the first time this month. In addition, the club has introduced two new disciplines - TeamGym and Trampoline.

Moreover, they have welcomed over 450 new members to their club, with many team members going on to further develop their knowledge and expertise. Islwyn Gymnastics has five new level 1 coaches, a level 2 coach, and two club & regional judges!

Welsh Gymnastics would like to wish Karl and his wife Marie (head coach) great success for the future.
