Elizabeth Popova of Llanelli Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy won silver for Great Britain at the FIG World Challenge Cup event in Portimao, Portugal

Elizabeth Popova and her teammate, Saffron Severn, finished in a brilliant second place in the team event, with Elizabeth also taking silver in the ball final.

Elizabeth's rhythmic career has gone from strength to strength; prior to this event, Elizabeth won gold for Great Britain for her ball routine in the Irini Cup in Greece back in May.

Head coach at Llanelli Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy, Linda Thomas, applauds Elizabeth for her dedication to the sport:

"Elizabeth works extremely hard and has a passion within her to be the best. She has become the one to watch in the rhythmic world and has already established herself as a top junior gymnast. We are immensely proud of Elizabeth and she is an inspiration to our younger gymnasts."

Coached by her mum, Ioana Popova, she is also a member of our commonwealth squad for 2022 coached by Nia Thomas.

Elizabeth has been a member of Llanelli Rhythmic Academy since the age of 4 and she is an inspiration to the rest of our Academy.

Congratulations Elizabeth and we wish you great success for the future.
