Kind-hearted parents at Ynys Môn Gymnastics Club in Holyhead have been doing their bit for our NHS heroes during the lockdown.

The club’s fantastic effort, led by head coach/director Catherine Rowley, has seen generous parents all pull together over the past 10 weeks to provide help to hospital staff and patients on the Covid-19 ward at Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor.

Catherine explains: “I have been in constant contact with Suzanne Holdam, who is one of our parents and the sister in charge of the Covid-19 ward at Ysbyty Gwynedd.

“Suzanne lets me know if there is anything the ward needs, or would like, to help them.

“The first request was for knitted hearts and bereavement cards. Our parents got to work and sent both.

“Suzanne then wanted to set up a FREE tuck shop for the patients on the ward. Our parents were so incredibly generous with their donations.

“Anything the Covid ward wants or needs our gymnasts’ parents have given.

“I couldn’t be prouder."
