Welsh Gymnastics & Early Years Wales have partnered to deliver the Welsh Active Early Years Programme targeting 0-5-year olds across Wales, as part of the Health and Active Fund – a partnership between Welsh Government, Sport Wales and Public Health Wales.

The Welsh Active Early Years project meets the aims of the Health and Active Fund criteria by bringing together two partners, Welsh Gymnastics and Early Years Wales.

Welsh Gymnastics aim to create great communities and champions. As a governing body we lead, develop, support and act as the guardian of the sport in Wales. Our mission is for Wales to be recognised as a leading gymnastics nation, producing world-class champions and creating vibrant, inclusive communities where every gymnast has a high-quality experience.

Early Years Wales are the leading authority on early years development within Wales, setting standards and inspiring others whilst promoting pride within their sector. Together, we want to see children in Wales thrive.

The Welsh Active Early Years project includes the two following programmes;

  • Active Together Wales
  • Active Baby and You

Active Together Wales

The 4-week multi skills movement and play based bilingual activity programme delivered to parents/carers and children aged 0-3 years at community based venue and outdoor spaces in communities across Wales. More info here.

Active Baby and You

The Active Baby and You training programme aims to provide those working with young children and families the skills and knowledge to enable them to cascade activities and health and well-being message to the children in their care. More info here.

The first 1000 days of a child's life are so important; we want to encourage those working with young children to utilise that time and find ways to build on the foundation movements.
