October, for Welsh Gymnastics, is GfA month.

So what do you think of when you hear GfA? GfA stands for Gymnastics for All, sometimes called General Gymnastics which, as you might have guessed, means that in our beautiful sport there is place for everyone regardless of age, gender, culture or ability.

In Wales, nearly half of our members take part in General Gymnastics. These fantastic classes are widely seen as the entry point into gymnastics and often open the door for a long career in one or more of the various different disciplines.

GfA gymnastics doesn’t require as many hours in the gym, which means you get to try a number of different skills without the commitment to any specific discipline.

GfA is about 'More Opportunities for More People', offering a wide range of experiences for participants and spectators, while providing the opportunity to focus on fun, fitness, friendship and fundamentals. It's also about offering gymnastics through the ages from pre-school right through to adults, ensuring there are no barriers to participation and inclusion.

Every week, throughout the whole of October, we will sharing a number of different activities and things for our GfA/General gymnasts to try.

Things to look out for:

  • Warm up and cool down activity cards
  • #TastyTuesday recipes
  • ‘A day in the life of’ video diaries
  • Free recreational sessions for all members. More info here.
  • Live session delivered by one of Wales’ fabulous community coaches
