This week is National Safeguarding Week.
We at Welsh Gymnastics are absolutely committed to safeguarding.
On the back of our safeguarding poster campaign competition launch yesterday, it is important to highlight the various support available if an individual, either a young person or an adult, speaks up.
Where can they go for help and advice if they have a concern?
Whether you are a gymnast, parent, club welfare officer or coach – in addition to speaking to Welsh Gymnastics and British Gymnastics – advice, guidance or support materials can also be found in a number of places.
And whether it is general information, or on a specific topic of support, there are people and places to help.
General support
British Athletes Commission/NSPCC Helpline helpline - 0800 056 0566
Childline - 0800 1111
For advice, support and guidance on a number of topics for supporting children, there are a wealth of resources available via the Child Protection In Sport Unit (CPSU) website.
Meanwhile for advice, support and guidance on a number of topics for supporting adults, information can be found on the Ann Craft Trust website.
Or for more specific support of a topic such as:
Bullying
Online Safety
Mental Health
The important thing to remember is: Together we can keep people safe.
