Molly Brown is a two-time former Welsh Non-Olympic Gymnast of the Year

Welsh gymnast Molly Brown was part of the Great Britain junior group who bagged a brilliant bronze medal at the 2021 Aerobic European Championships in Pesaro, Italy last weekend.

Molly, 17, who is based in Weston-super-Mare, is a two-time former Welsh Non-Olympic Gymnast of the Year award winner.

The five-strong junior group, which also included Lola Lawrence, Freya Grafton, Katie Ferris and Emily Blackhurst, had earlier qualified for the final in fifth place, with a score of 18.950 to advance to the final.

And it was there they went on to execute their final routine to a high standard, improving their score by .500 from qualifying to win bronze and a place on the podium.

Russia (19.850) took the title from Romania with a tiebreaker.

It was a brilliant bronze for the British quintet of Molly Brown, Lola Lawrence, Freya Grafton, Katie Ferris and Emily Blackhurst.

It was Britain’s second medal of the competition after Lola Lawrence’s fantastic silver medal in the junior individual women’s competition.

Molly was also part of a British junior trio alongside Freya and Katie, finishing 16th, with the other British trio of Daisy-May Stevens, Zoe Wilshire and Eesha Antil in 14th place.
