Coach Support
Coaches are crucial to a participants experience within the sport. Coaches with the right skills and behaviours can ensure every experience is a fulfilling one and positive for all.
We are here to support and develop you within your role. Whether you have just started on your coaching journey or looking to refresh your knowledge.
We have fantastic opportunities and are always looking to recruit new mentors, coach developers and educators. If you are interested or have any queries please contact coaching@welshgymnastics.org.
What support do I receive as part of my coaching membership?
All members have access to our Gymnastics Rewards Platform please use your membership number and scheme ID 1902.
British Gymnastics also have free e-learning on their Academy. Continuing Professional Development (british-gymnastics.org)
Welsh Gymnastics run Coach Scholarships and Coach Developers annually, keep an eye out for more opportunities.
Squads are available in area, nationally for coaches to attend for their development. If you are interested please email performance@weshgymnastics.org
Coaching Waivers
A Coaching Waiver can be applied for by a club where they have a specific short term need to continue a particular gymnastics activity in the absence of a coach in that discipline or at the correct level. This could be, for example, because a coach has left the club or has a short-term illness or injury that is preventing them from coaching.
The Coaching Waiver is not designed to cover long term situations, provide permanent cover to any coach or enable out-of-discipline competition entries. If a long-term issue occurs then they will need to contact coaching@welshgymnastics.org .
Please note any waivers will only be applied within the club they have stated on the form.

What are the registration periods for courses?
For Level 1 and Level 2, courses will expire one year after the first day of the course
If candidates sit their exam outside of their registration period they will have to contact their course organiser who will liaise with 1st4port to see if an extension can be granted (fees will apply)
