Welsh Gymnastics is thrilled to announce that 11 clubs across Wales have been awarded a combined total of £119,999 through the Be Active Wales Fund, providing a significant boost to facilities, equipment, and coaching provision nationwide.
Elements Gymnastics Academy has received £40,000, which will allow the club to extend its gym facilities and provide more opportunities for people of all ages to get involved in gymnastics. All Stars Gymnastics Club, awarded £21,116, will use the funding to expand their gym space, welcoming more participants and creating additional opportunities within their community.
Canolfan Beaumaris Gymnastics and Trampoline Club, the only club in North West Wales to offer trampolining, is using part of their £15,217 award to purchase a Double Mini Trampoline, the first of its kind in the North of Wales. Dynamic Dragons Gymnastics Academy, awarded £15,015, will establish a new gymnastics provision in Powys, bringing the sport to an area where there are currently no opportunities.
The remaining clubs receiving funding are Kestrel Gymnastics Club (£1,885), Cardiff Flyers (£10,800), Cardiff Central Youth Club (£6,624), Caerphilly Dragonflies Trampoline Club (£1,125), Newport Acrobatic Gymnastics Club (£2,925), Ruthin and Denbigh Gymnastics Club (£4,662), and Swansea Acrotricks (£630). These clubs will use their funding to access coach education and upskill staff, as well as purchasing and upgrading equipment, improving the quality, safety, and reach of gymnastics in their communities.
Welsh Gymnastics is proud to see Be Active Wales funding making a meaningful impact, supporting participation, development, and access to gymnastics across Wales. We would also like to send a big thank you to the National Lottery through Sport Wales for helping support our clubs and for contributing to the growth of gymnastics across the country.
