Welsh junior gymnasts had an outstanding weekend at the 2025 Men’s Artistic National Setworks Championships, held at the Telford International Centre from Friday 31st October to Sunday 2nd November. Across multiple levels, the squad delivered strong performances, earning medals, top rankings, and invitations to national camps and GB squad testing.
In the Level 1 Bob Currier category, Sebastian Parfitt finished 4th overall and earned selection to attend the prestigious Reward Camp at Lilleshall.
The Level 2 Bob Currier team also delivered an impressive performance, claiming silver overall. The team, comprising of Charlie Cavill, Jude Jones, Carwyn Hughes, Zachery Evans, Heath Francis, and Spencer Payne, demonstrated great teamwork, consistency, and execution across all apparatus, underlining the strength and depth of the Welsh junior squad.

At Level 6 Bob Currier, Issac Price had a standout weekend, taking gold in the all-around and securing an invitation to the Lilleshall Reward Camp, cementing his position as one of Wales’ rising stars.

The Level 1 Paul Blakebrough category saw multiple standout performances. Issac Lloyd earned silver overall, highlighted by first place finishes on rings, parallel bars, high bar, and the Physical Preparation Programme (PPP), as well as third place on floor, earning him an invitation to GB Squad testing. Lloyd Morris finished 8th overall, finishing second on floor and rings and third on PPP, also earning a GB testing invite. Kobe Scott impressed on pommel horse, scoring a perfect 10 out of 10 to claim first place on the apparatus.
In the Level 3 Paul Blakebrough category, Ahmed Mirghany finished 5th overall, and claimed third position on rings and vault, and has also been invited to GB Squad testing, rounding off a weekend of excellent results for Welsh gymnasts across all levels.
It was an incredible weekend of competition for Welsh junior gymnasts, showcasing not only individual brilliance but also teamwork, consistency, and the growing strength of Wales’ MAG programme. With multiple athletes selected for national camps and GB testing, the future of gymnastics in Wales is looking exceptionally bright.
