Welsh Gymnastics is delighted to announce that Olivia Bryl will take up the role of Head National Coach for the Women’s Artistic programme from Spring 2026, stepping up from her current position as National Coach.
Olivia’s appointment marks an exciting next chapter for the programme, bringing continuity, experience and strong leadership into the role. Having already played a key part in the development of Welsh women’s gymnastics, her move into the Head National Coach position reflects her dedication to the programme and the respect she commands across the sport.
A former gymnast who represented Wales internationally, Olivia transitioned into coaching following her competitive career and has since built an outstanding reputation within the Welsh system. Her journey from gymnast to coach has seen her support athletes at all stages of development, earning recognition for her technical knowledge and ability to nurture talent in a high-performance environment.
In her current role as National Coach, Olivia has worked closely with gymnasts, personal coaches and performance staff to help drive standards and performance across the programme. As Head National Coach, she will now lead the strategic direction of Women’s Artistic Gymnastics in Wales, overseeing athlete pathways and supporting the continued growth and success of the national team.

One of Olivia’s first major milestones in her new role will be leading the Welsh Women’s Artistic team into the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The appointment ensures continuity in leadership as preparations build toward the Games, with Olivia playing a central role in shaping the squad, guiding performance plans and supporting athletes on the road to one of the sport’s biggest international stages.
India Marshall, Performance Programme Manager at Welsh Gymnastics, said:
‘We are beyond delighted to announce Liv’s appointment of Head National Coach for the WAG programme, following her return from maternity. Liv’s knowledge, experience and passion for the Sport continue to shine through and we are so excited to welcome her back into this new chapter’.
Olivia Bryl added:
‘I’m incredibly honoured to step into the role of Head National Coach. I’ve got big shoes to fill and I want to thank Tracey Skirton-Davies for her outstanding contribution to Welsh Gymnastics and for all the support she’s given me over the years. I’m excited to build on that work and continue driving our programme forward’.
Welsh Gymnastics looks forward to the next phase of the programme under Olivia’s leadership and is confident that her experience, passion and vision will make a significant impact as she prepares to take on the Head National Coach role in 2026.
