About the Course
Welsh Gymnastics is committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and wellbeing for all members. To support this, anyone in an official role must hold a valid safeguarding certificate.
We are pleased to offer the Safeguarding and Protecting Children (SPC) course, along with the Time to Listen course, free of charge to all members. This initiative aims to reduce pressures on clubs and help ensure that gymnastics remains a safe, positive environment for every child.
What You’ll Learn
This workshop will help you:
- Understand key safeguarding principles
- Identify signs of abuse and poor practice
- Respond sensitively and appropriately to concerns
- Review and strengthen coaching practice
- Create a safe, positive, and enriching environment for young gymnasts
Who Can Attend
This course is suitable for anyone involved in organising or delivering gymnastics, including:
- Coaches
- Leaders
- Judges
- Welfare Officers
- Club officials
- Volunteers
- Parents
Participants must be 18+ years old.
Technical Requirements
To participate fully in this online course, you must ensure that your camera and microphone are working correctly before the session begins.
Engagement throughout the workshop is essential.
Failure to engage or inability to participate may result in an unsuccessful attendance.

Your place is confirmed only once you complete your registration and receive a confirmation email.
Non-Attendance Charge
If you do not attend after receiving your confirmation, a £45 fee will be invoiced to your club.
