Over the weekend of 18th–19th April, the British TeamGym Championships took place at Northumbria University in Newcastle, bringing together some of the best TeamGym athletes from across the UK.

Wales was proudly represented by eight talented gymnasts, who competed as part of their respective club teams across senior and junior categories. Representing Bracknell in the Senior Men’s competition were Cohen Woodsford, Tobi Steward and Sam Kirby. In the women’s categories, Leila Bartlett and Leah Brooks competed for Majestic in the Junior Women’s event, while Sienna Wilkinson, Ffion Brooks and Lucy Young took to the floor as part of the Majestic Senior Women’s team.

All athletes delivered confident and composed performances, contributing to strong team results in a highly competitive field.

The standout result of the weekend came from the Majestic Senior Women’s team, who secured an impressive silver medal, finishing just 0.05 points behind first place in what proved to be an incredibly close contest.

In the Senior Men’s competition, the Bracknell team placed 5th, demonstrating strength and consistency throughout their routines. Meanwhile, the Majestic Junior Women achieved a commendable 4th place finish, narrowly missing out on a podium position.

The championships provided a fantastic platform for Welsh gymnasts to compete at a high level, gain valuable experience, and showcase their talent on the national stage.

Congratulations to all gymnasts and their clubs on their achievements and for representing Wales with pride.
