Welsh Gymnastics statement: The Whyte Review

Welsh Gymnastics welcome today’s publication of The Whyte Review into the allegations facing British Gymnastics.

The Review is not only significant for British Gymnastics, but for the sport as a whole. Nothing is more important than the safeguarding and welfare of our gymnasts.

To this end, Welsh Gymnastics has appointed Jan Pickles OBE, a specialist independent safeguarding advisor and former member of the Welsh Government’s National Independent Safeguarding Advisory Board, to work with the Board of Welsh Gymnastics to ensure any recommendations that may relate to Wales are fully implemented.

Once we have had time to read and fully digest the report, in particular the recommendations made, we will be in a position to comment further.
