The Artistic British Championships were held at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool from the 20th-23rd March 2025, showcasing a strong presence from Welsh Gymnasts.

Kieron Innes from Fusion Gymnastics Wales delivered an outstanding performance in the Men’s Artistic Disability Masters, winning gold on the Pommel Horse and Rings, silver on Vault and Parallel Bars, and bronze on Floor.

In the Senior Men’s category, Alexander Niscoveanu of South Essex Gymnastics Club finished 10th in the all-around competition against a highly competitive field and claimed a well-earned silver medal in the High Bar final. Also competing in the High Bar final was Elliot Vernon from Leeds Gymnastics Club, who placed 8th. There was more Welsh success in the other apparatus finals: Jacob Edwards from the City of Birmingham earned a silver medal in the Floor final, Henry Lewis from Leeds Gymnastics Club secured the bronze medal on vault while Theo-Amari Ochana from Heathrow took 5th position, and Joe Cemlyn-Jones, also from the City of Birmingham, finished 7th in the Parallel Bars final.

The Women’s Artistic Aspire competition saw Madi Jones of Deeside Gymnastics Academy make her British Championships debut, finishing 13th on Bars and 17th on Floor—both strong results in her first outing.

In the Women’s Artistic Junior competition, Lexi Holmes of Clwb Cymru stood out as a top performer. She earned silver in the all-around matching the winning score but narrowly missing out on gold after a tie-break. Holmes also captured gold in the Bars, Beam, and Floor finals, and finished 4th on Vault, firmly establishing herself as one of Britain’s leading junior gymnasts. Ella Evans from Llanelli Gymnastics Club also reached the Floor final, where she delivered a solid routine to finish 6th.

The Women’s Artistic Senior competition brought further success for Welsh gymnasts. In the all-around, Frances Stone from Amber Valley Gym Club took silver, with Emily Roper from Pipers Vale securing bronze. The apparatus finals continued the medal streak: in Vault, Frances Stone claimed her second silver, Abigail Roper of Pipers Vale took bronze, and her twin, Emily Roper, placed 4th. On the Uneven Bars, Emily Roper was crowned British Champion, Ellie Lewis from Clwb Cymru Caerdydd earned bronze, and Frances Stone finished 8th. In the Beam final, Frances Stone delivered a flawless routine to win gold, while Emily Roper placed 4th. In the Floor final, Jemima Taylor from Clwb Cymru Caerdydd impressed with a silver medal, and Frances Stone concluded her successful championships with a 5th place finish.

A huge congratulations to all the gymnasts and their coaches for an outstanding set of results.
