Welsh Gymnastics are delighted to announce Llandarcy Park as the new home of our Rhythmic programme.

The move sees our Welsh Squads relocate to the elite sports and training facility at Llandarcy Academy of Sport, which is situated between Neath and Swansea and sits on Junction 43 off the M4.

The squads will now train there across four nights during the week, Wednesday to Saturday, with the hope to extend that to six nights a week in the near future.

Not only does the facility allow our rhythmic gymnasts to utilise two carpets at the same time, the hall at Llandarcy will also offer an appropriate height of 11metres. In addition, the squads will also be able to access strength and conditioning support.

Meanwhile as well as having access to on-site parking, parents will also now have the opportunity to sit and view sessions.

Jo Coombs, Welsh Gymnastics Performance Director, said: “We are extremely grateful to Llandarcy for stepping in and doing everything possible to support our rhythmic programme.

“It’s a really good solution for us, in an ideal location, that now allows our squad gymnasts access to an elite performance space in what is a safe and welcoming facility.”

Wyn Evans, Managing Director, Llandarcy Park Ltd, said: “Llandarcy Park are delighted and proud that the Welsh Rhythmic Gymnastic Squad have decided to re-locate its training base to Llandarcy Academy of Sport.

“We are looking forward to developing a strong working relationship with Welsh Gymnastics to support its elite athletes to compete and medal at the highest level of the sport.”
