Welsh Acro Championships make long awaited return

Last weekend saw the long-awaited return of championship action for the discipline of Acrobatic gymnastics as the 2022 Welsh Acrobatic Championships took centre stage at Sport Wales National Centre in Cardiff.

Clubs came together to compete for Welsh titles and to also trial for a new Welsh Acro squad – details of which will be announced shortly.

This event was the first Acro Championships event that Welsh Gymnastics have held since before the Covid-19 pandemic started.

The Covid-hit years were extremely hard for Acrobatic gymnastics, due to it being very much a partnership and group work discipline – and it really is a testament to the Welsh Acro coaches that gymnasts are competing at they level they are competing at.

The championships saw a range of different ages compete, from some of our youngest to some of our elite level gymnasts.
