Welsh tumbler Megan Surman has been named in the British team for the 2022 Trampoline, Tumbling & DMT European Championships taking place in Italy in June.
The 23-year-old, who is originally from Swansea and now trains out of City of Birmingham Gymnastics Club, is one of eight senior British tumblers named for the event in Rimini, taking place from 1st to 5th June.
Surman’s selection follows on from her major championship debut at the 2021 Trampoline, Tumbling & DMT World Championships back in November, which she marked in style by helping Great Britain’s women tumblers to team bronze in Baku, Azerbaijan.
That event also saw Surman, who is a two-time World Age Group medallist, place fifth in the world in the individual women’s tumbling final, which was won by Britain’s Megan Kealy – who is also in the team for the Europeans.
Current trampoline world champion and two-time Olympic medallist, Bryony Page from Sheffield, will lead the British challenge in Italy.
