Three of our Welsh senior women’s artistic gymnasts have been in action for Great Britain in recent weeks.

Evie Flage-Donovan and Mali Morgan have both had the honour of making their senior bows for GBR.

Evie competed at the Artistic World Challenge Cup series event in Szombathely, Hungary, while Mali was in Heidelberg, Germany, at the Women’s Artistic Senior 5-way Team competition alongside France, Romania, Switzerland and hosts Germany.

Meanwhile Poppy-Grace Stickler, who is women’s team reserve for the upcoming Artistic World Championships, was back in GBR action last weekend at the World Challenge Cup series event in Paris.

It allowed Poppy to get more big competition experience under her belt and with it came another final qualification – securing a 6th place finish on the balance beam.

The event was staged in the Bercy Arena, which will also host gymnastics at the 2024 Olympic Games.

“The arena and audience were unbelievable; I have never been in such an atmosphere,” said Poppy.

“I took a lot of learnings from the event and had a lot of new work that I was proud to put out.

“I was pleased with putting out a new beam and hitting it under pressure.

“I am so motivated to get back in the gym and continue to work towards the Worlds prep.”

Da iawn Evie, Mali, Poppy and coaches.

We also wish a speedy recovery to Sofia Micallef, who was also selected for the 5-way Team competition along with Mali, but had to withdraw on medical grounds.
