Day two of the 2023 Artistic British Championships in Liverpool brought another two medals for our women’s artistic gymnasts.

Following on from Lexi Holmes’ Aspire All-Around bronze on day one, fellow Clwb Cymru Caerdydd gymnasts Ffion Burgum and Ellie Lewis took silver and bronze respectively in the Junior Women’s All-Around competition.

Ffion scored a total of 49.200 across her four pieces with Ellie totalling 48.600. South Devon’s Abigail Martin (49.550) added British Junior gold to the Welsh Open title she won less than a fortnight ago.

An unfortunate error on vault resulted in a zero and ultimately cost Clwb Cymru’s Jemima Taylor an All-Around medal chance here.

Jemima, though, posted the top score of the day on beam (13.250) and floor (12.550). Ellie’s score 12.900 led the way in uneven bars qualification.

Meanwhile in the Men’s Under 14 All-Around competition, Welsh Open champion Sammy Cotter (Bury) was the highest placed Welsh gymnast in that category with a top six finish.

Also Welsh Open champion on pommel and rings, he was fifth and sixth best in Britain respectively on those two pieces.

Jedidiah Lewis (Colchester), who finished 11th All-Around, was also fifth on both floor and high bar.

Archie Weir (Olympus) had the seventh best score on floor with Fusion’s Iolo Parry ninth.

Ben Scourse (Valleys Gymnastics Academy) was ninth on vault while Jamie Barnes (Fusion) was 12th on vault. Ewan Leask (Leeds) was 11th on the pommel horse.
