Michelle's role is...

To lead the team at Welsh Gymnastics. With a background in HR and organisational design and development, she is focused on ensuring the team have clear direction and motivation to execute the strategy set by the Board.

What's keeping Michelle busy:

Having joined the organisation during the Covid-19 pandemic, Michelle has been busy working with the team to ensure that the sport is able to continue in a safe way and that guidance and resources are in line with government guidance. Board diversity has been a focus and she is pleased to have greater gender parity, along with a diverse range of skills and expertise.

Michelle’s vision for Welsh Gymnastics is for gymnasts to simply love going to their local club, whatever their aspiration or motivation.

  • Putting support, resources and services in place to help gymnasts throughout Wales to enjoy their sport.
  • Ensuring that coaches and the clubs across Wales are supported to succeed and thrive.

Gymnastics history: Michelle's background in the sport spans 11 years in gymnastics administration. Prior to joining Welsh Gymnastics, Michelle spent a more than a decade working for British Gymnastics, including seven as an executive director.

More about Michelle: Michelle is passionate about people, demonstrated by a 20-year career in HR that has incorporated commercial and not-for-profit organisations. She has achieved the chartered fellow status considered to be the highest professional accolade in HR – and has spent much of her career coaching and developing individuals and teams. In her spare time she likes gardening and walking her four dogs.
